Media Executive Paul Mattioli Joins Brief Media as Chief Revenue Officer
TULSA, OKLAHOMA—Brief Media—publisher of leading veterinary publication and reference brands Clinician’s Brief, Veterinary Team Brief, Plumb’s Therapeutics Brief, and Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs—has named Paul Mattioli as chief revenue officer. Mattioli joins Brief Media from NEJM Group—publisher of The New England Journal of Medicine—and brings a wealth of experience and valuable insight in B2B publishing, events, research, and thought leadership programs.
With an extensive background working in globally recognized content brands such as Hanley Wood, Ziff Davis, Forbes Media, and The Weather Channel, Mattioli boasts an uncontested track record of developing innovative products and partnerships, and he has been instrumental in transitioning many sales teams to fully integrated, consultative revenue teams. Mattioli’s passion for the healthcare industry was ignited 15 years ago while he was at the helm of HealthLeaders Media as vice president of sales and is reflected in his work as director of sales and business development at NEJM Group, where he helped build and launch NEJM Catalyst. He joins Brief Media with a fervor to create a positive impact on the veterinary health community.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the Brief Media team as we look forward to a new year and to convening a new conversation with our audience and our clients,” says Mattioli. “The future is bright for content brands that have the level of trust Brief Media has earned with its audience of veterinary professionals.”
Mattioli is focused on helping Brief Media continue to deliver the best content while also connecting its audience and partners to technology, tools, and insights that enhance clinical knowledge and practice-management skills. He will collaborate intimately with Brief Media’s key clients to enhance partnerships and develop new advertising and messaging opportunities.
Elizabeth Green, CEO and founder of Brief Media, says, “Paul’s innovative, yet pragmatic, approach to developing marketable content aligns perfectly with the vision for our brands and those of our clients. In addition to his elevated perspective of revenue leadership, Paul adds a level of passion and enthusiasm for the human–animal bond that will make him right at home with our dedicated team of veterinary professionals.”
Brief Media’s focus on developing and introducing new product lines for the veterinary profession made adding an experienced chief revenue officer, particularly one with Mattioli’s skillset, the next essential growth step for the company.
“Today’s B2B clients are looking for trusted sources of market knowledge coupled with new ideas,” says Mattioli. “Busy clients want and expect media brands to think big with them—not for them—without losing sight of the basics. Brief Media’s family of top-ranked brands have us well positioned to become a bigger part of our clients’ business.”
